Mardi Himal Trekking Route

The Mardi Himal Trekking starts with a day ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. If you decide to take the Siddhing route, then the journey begins from Pokhara approaching Pitam Deurali which is 2 and a half hour walk. The route goes through enchanted Rhododendron forest, small winding paths until you climb out of the forest at an elevation around 3,300 meters. We head upward to Forest Camp (2550 m), and 2-8 hours walk will take you to Low Camp (2900 m) and High Camp (3580 m). Furthermore, continuous 6-7 hours day hike through the old stone-built villages, you will finally step at the Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500 m. The trek carries you through the settlements of different ethnic groups - paddy fields, and lovely streams and pristine topography.

Mardi Himal is considered to be an easy aim even for new trekkers or climbers. Thus you will be able the get the picturesque views of the entire Annapurna Range.

Best time to Trekking to Mardi Himal

The best month for Mardi Himal Trek is from autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). During March- April you will walk through the dense rhododendron forest which is absolutely stunning especially and as the elevation rises, the landscapes change. Similarly, in this season, the weather is warm and sunny thus, one can see the outstanding view of Himalaya Ranges. From June to August the Monsoon seasons start and the route will be affected by rain. During the months of December – February the winter start and there will be plenty of snow on the ground so this offers an extra challenge.

Group Or Solo Trek

Mardi Himal Trek is 5-6 days short Trek. This short trek can be done in solo or in a group. Well, if you feel like you are strong enough physically and mentally to go into the wild, then you can go solo as well. But if you think you may need help then you can go in a group because you might want someone to back you up. If you can afford a Guide then we recommend to taking one.

Though the trekkers have adored Mardi Himal route since so long. But even in the recent days, there are small teahouse and lodges, which provides very simple facilities.
