The Ganesh Himal Trek blew my mind. When our guide pointed out how the peaks look like the head of Lord Ganesh I got chills. Ganesh Himal I at 7,422m was massive and the whole range stretched out in front of us like a painting. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the history and the mountain legends. He made every viewpoint feel like a story. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their route through this hidden region was perfectly planned. We saw almost no other trekkers the whole time. Highly recommended trekking company.
Had a very well balanced time with my guide Binod, showed me the local ways of doing things and had just the right amount of knowledge.
Binod was great, he gave me enough time to do what I wanted to do. There was no overbearing feeling of having to socialise or talk for the sake of talking.
A very relaxed and chilled guide, exactly what you want when you’re spending 15 days together. I really extend my gratitude towards Binod. My time with him was fantastic.
Couldn’t speak more highly of my guide, Bishal. Over 18 days we trekked through the Annapurna Circuit, Tilicho Lake and Poon Hill - certainly my highlight of 2024. Bishal took care of the business, leaving my friend and I to take in everything that the mountains had to offer. We were well advised and well led, despite trekking in the Winter. Bishal was a true mountain man, and couldn’t picture the experience without him. Thanks to Bishal and Himalayan Hub for facilitating such an incredible memory.
First things first: the Annapurna circuit is an amazing hike.
What was les amazing, is that Prakash, who claims to be someone who knows all the tracks in Nepal did not apply any of this knowledge in building the right package for us.
Three main points:
My request for a quote without Porter was systematically ignored and I had to get into an argument with Prakash to go without Porter. Once we were on the track, the only person we met with a porter was a 70 year old man. We would have felt ridiculous had we had one.
When I asked about the five day segment at the start of the track that clearly has a road going through it, this concern was waved away, saying that we would walk on hiking tracks. This was not so, the first day was skipped, and the next four days we walked 80% on roads.
Whereas we indicated that we had limited time, he made it look impossible to cut back on any part of the track. Once on the track, this turned out to be total bs.
Looking at the plan in hindsight, it is as if it was designed to be cut short on purpose whilst paying for a longer itinerary. Be very critical when booking with these guys.
Note: in feb, when we went, accommodation is free if you order food at the teahouses, so you’re set for dinner, breakfast and accommodation for about 15$/day.
Mr Prakash is the best suggesting person in Nepal!!
What an experience! Spent 12 days on the Annapurna circuit taking in the amazing Nepali culture and mountain views! Deepak our guide was great fun and kept us entertained throughout!! He was super knowledgeable and very funny! Said our trek has come to an end but can’t wait to come back and explore more of Nepal!
