I decided to use a Nepalese Company to do this trek as I wanted 100% of the cost to go direct to the Nepalese economy. My emails were always answered promptly by Prakash and any questions I had, answered quickly and patiently ! Once i was in Nepal. They provided transportation from Kathmadu's airport to hotel and many more. i appreciated very mush, they took care of me during my whole stay and proved to be trustworthy and knowledgable, my two guides (Ram and Diwa) were a delight, totally looked after me and make sure i had a good time ! the two treks were just amazing and the scenery unforgettable. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to visit Nepal for trekking or travelling !! can't wait to hike with you again because three weeks in nepal are not enough !
My Himalaya hub experiences where great, I had a three-month visa, and I am retired, so I use them for many types of great experiences. From fixing me up with two great cultural festival experiences, one for five days the other for three days, that was fantastic. Then up we go to Annapurna trek, to Thorang la pass 5416mt, then a few days in Pokhara, my favorite city in Nepal, then
Chitwan national park. Later to Everest, few more little trek around Kathmandu, back to Pokhara for paragliding and more.
I try to use locals for everything if possible, Nepali people are the nicest, and this incredible group, help with anything I needed, I now consider them friends. So thanks for everything.
Day trip to Nagorkot and Bhaktapur from Kathmandu hotel
Ram Simkhada, our tour guide and our driver did a fantastic job!! We had a terrific day enjoying all the local sights. My favorite is the UNESCO town of Bhaktapur. There is still a lot of rebuilding, after the earthquake in 2015. Prakash Lamichhane, the manager, also planned the Mt. Everest flightseeing for us. The Himalayan mountain range is up close and personal. Memories made for a lifetime!!!

Everest Base Camp trek with Ram
We did the EBC trek with Ram Barakoti and he was the perfect guide. He was funny and easy to talk to, always helpful and checking we were alright with the altitude, as well as very informative and knowledgeable about the area. He is really experienced in the mountains and it really paid off as he rearranged our schedule due to predicted bad weather and we had perfect blue sky views on all the most important days.
He also went above and beyond helping us organise other parts of our trip in Nepal too, with wonderful advice and getting us in touch with people.
We had a couple of issues with Himalaya Hub but they were all resolved in the end.
Would highly recommend Ram. Thanks for a great trip.

We booked a 2 week trek to Everest Base Camp and over Cho La pass to Gokyo - plus flights in and out of Lukla - through Himalayan Hub Adventures in April ‘18. We had read a bit about the trek before going and had decided that we wanted a porter/guide with us.
We initially contacted Himalayan Hub on Facebook and the replies from Puru were very fast and comprehensive. He answered all of our questions quickly and clearly and coped with us changing our plan/itinerary at least 3 times! He made sure the trip was just how we wanted it.
At first we were quoted for an all-inclusive trek with a porter and guide and whilst reasonable this was a little expensive for us so we decided on a porter/guide and to pay for tea houses and food/drink ourselves. Going alcohol and meat free for the entirety of the trek, this worked out significantly less expensive for us overall.
We unfortunately had trouble both ends of the trek flying in and out of Lukla due to weather, and Puru was extremely easy to contact and helped re-organise flights both ways using his contacts. We ended up needing to take a helicopter back to KTM and Puru arranged this through appropriate channels. After we were back in Kathmandu he helped us extensively to gather paperwork for insurance purposes due to the delayed flights & extra expense of the helicopter. Nothing was too much trouble.
The porter/guide he organised (Kunga Sherpa) was excellent! His English was great and he was knowledgable about the area. He also accommodated us walking quickly and us choosing our tea-houses to stay in along the way. He was fine with us walking 34km in one day from Gokyo to Namche Bazaar despite the other Sherpas thinking we were mad! He was also a very nice guy - we had a good time with him.
We would definitely recommend Himalayan Hub Adventures for organising your trekking trip. The level of customer service was excellent and they went above and beyond before and after the trek to make sure we were happy. Thanks for all your help throughout :)
General advice re: Lukla. There are many delays and cancellations due to weather with often little or no updates from the airlines about what is going on. We lost one day at the start and were delayed 2 days at the end of our trek. As mentioned, we ended up chartering a helicopter as we needed to continue our trip- this was very expensive ($1000) and felt very much like we were being taken advantage of by the helicopter companies and touts at Lukla. Advice would be either to make sure you have plenty of days to spare either end of the trek and are mentally prepared to continue staying in teahouses in Lukla, or to have good insurance that will cover the cost of a helicopter back to Kathmandu. Beware paying in cash to a tout at Lukla!
Poonhill and Everest base camp trek !
