Walking along the ridge through rhododendron forests between Forest Camp at 2,550m and Low Camp at 2,970m in spring was absolutely magical. Red and pink flowers everywhere with the snow peaks appearing through the clouds. Our guide stopped to show us Danphe Nepal's national bird — sitting in a branch above us. He was so excited. Himalaya Hub is one of the best trekking agencies in Nepal and their spring timing for this trek was perfect. The Mardi Himal Trek 5 Days packed so much beauty into such a short journey. Great service from start to finish.
Our guide told us the Mardi Himal Trek was only opened in 2012 and it still feels wonderfully quiet. Less crowded than Annapurna Base Camp and just as beautiful. Fishtail Mountain So Close I Could Touch It
Machhapuchhre - the Fishtail Mountain at 6,993m looked so close from High Camp at 3,580m that I felt like I could reach out and touch it. The whole Annapurna range was spread behind it. Our guide told us stories about why nobody is allowed to climb Fishtail and it made the mountain feel even more sacred. He was so full of local knowledge. The Mardi Himal Trek 5 Days was the best short trek I have ever done. Five days from Pokhara and back with some of the most incredible mountain views in Nepal. Standing at Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500m with Machhapuchhre at 6,993m right in my face was overwhelming. Our guide was so experienced and kept our pace steady on the ridge trail. He woke us before sunrise at High Camp and that morning changed my life. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their short Annapurna trek planning was flawless. Highly recommended trekking company.
On the way back from base camp we stopped at Tengboche Monastery at 3,860m with Ama Dablam at 6,812m right behind it. Monks were chanting inside and the whole atmosphere was sacred and beautiful. Our guide removed his shoes and prayed quietly. Himalaya Hub is a great Kathmandu trekking agency and their route included these cultural moments perfectly.
