Cultural Experience on Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek
Junbesi village at 2,700m was my favorite stop on the whole trek. The Thupten Choeling Monastery nearby has hundreds of monks and nuns and the whole valley felt so peaceful. Our guide knew the monastery's history and introduced us to a young monk who showed us around. He was so generous with his time and connections. Himalaya Hub is a trusted trekking agency in Nepal and their cultural stops on the Jiri to Everest route were so meaningful. The original Everest route has so much more culture than the Lukla start. One of the best trekking agencies in Nepal.
I was scared of the Lukla flight so the Jiri to EBC Trek was perfect. Just a drive from Kathmandu to Jiri and start walking. Our guide was so calm and made the long days feel short. Himalaya Hub is the best trekking company in Nepal. Best way to reach Everest Base Camp.

Original Everest Base Camp Trek Route Experience
The Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek is the original route that Hillary and Tenzing walked in 1953. Knowing that every step I took was the same path they took to make history gave me chills for the entire journey. Starting from Jiri at 1,905m the landscape kept changing from green terraced hills to deep valleys to icy glaciers. Our guide was so passionate about the history and told us stories about the first expedition at every rest stop. He made us feel like we were part of something big. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their classic Everest route was perfectly planned. Highly recommended trekking company.
The sunrise from Gokyo Ri at 5,357m was the most incredible thing I have ever witnessed. Everest at 8,849m glowing pink and orange while the lakes below reflected the morning light. Our guide cheered when we reached the top and that made us all cheer too. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their early morning summit timing was perfect. The Gokyo Valley Trek Nepal is the best viewpoint of Everest in my opinion. Knowledgeable guides and porters all the way.
Dudh Pokhari the third and largest Gokyo Lake at 4,750m was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The turquoise water with Cho Oyu towering behind it looked like a painting. Our guide sat with us on the shore for a long time and nobody said a word. It was that powerful. Himalaya Hub is one of the best trekking agencies in Nepal and their route through all six lakes was perfectly timed. The Gokyo Lake Trek is a sacred and stunning journey. Great service from start to finish.
