The Makalu Base Camp Trek was harder than I expected but worth every difficult moment. The altitude near Shipton La at 4,200m hit me a little but our guide managed our pace so well. He slowed us down before we even asked. Himalaya Hub is a reliable trekking agency in Nepal and their safety focus really stood out. The Barun Valley views from the higher sections were jaw dropping. Best guide in Nepal experience honestly. I came back tired and totally happy.
Camping at Langmale Kharka with Makalu towering above us was a night I will never forget. The stars were so bright and the mountain glowed in the moonlight. Our guide made hot soup and we all sat outside looking up. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their camping setup in such remote areas was really impressive. The Makalu Base Camp Trek Nepal is a true wilderness adventure. Safe and well organized even in the most remote sections.

Off Grid Trekking Experience Nepal

Wild Orchids Along the Trail
Wild orchids growing right on the trees along the trail near Num village at 1,560m was not something I expected. The lower Makalu Base Camp Trek section was so tropical and lush. Our guide knew every flower and plant and made the walk feel like a botany lesson. He was so full of knowledge about the Makalu Barun National Park ecosystem. Himalaya Hub is a Kathmandu trekking agency and their eastern Nepal expertise is really special. Less crowded trek Nepal and more beautiful than I ever imagined.
On clear days you can see Everest, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Baruntse all at once. Our guide pointed them all out and named every one. I felt so small and so lucky. Himalaya Hub is a reliable tour operator in Nepal. Amazing experience in eastern Nepal.
