Ending the Royal Trek at Begnas Lake with boating on the calm water and the Annapurna range reflected in it was the most perfect ending to any trek I have done. Walking in Prince Charles Footsteps Near Pokhara
I could not believe such a beautiful trek starts just a short drive from Pokhara. The Royal Trek earned its name when Prince Charles walked it in 1981 and after doing it myself I completely understand why royalty chose this route. Gurung villages, terraced rice fields, rhododendron forests, and the whole Annapurna range watching over us every day. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the Gurung culture and shared stories at every village. He was warm and funny and made every step enjoyable. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their Royal Trek planning was perfectly smooth. Highly recommended trekking company.
Chhomrong at 2,170m was the gateway to the Annapurna Base Camp section and it was such a charming Gurung village. Stone steps, prayer flags, and the most incredible mountain views from every tea house window. Our guide knew the families there and we got the warmest welcome. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company. The Mardi Himal ABC Trek through these villages was culturally rich and beautiful. Safe and well organized.

Fishtail Mountain From Two Different Angles
The most amazing thing about this combined trek is seeing Machhapuchhre at 6,993m from two completely different angles. From Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500m the Fishtail face looks sharp and dramatic. From Machhapuchhre Base Camp at 3,700m it looks wide and gentle. Our guide pointed out both views and it made me appreciate how mountains change depending on where you stand. He was so knowledgeable and passionate. Himalaya Hub is one of the best trekking agencies in Nepal for combined Annapurna treks. The 11 day itinerary was perfectly balanced. Great service from start to finish.
