Tashigaon at 2,070m was the last permanent village before the wilderness really began. After that it was just mountains and forests and silence. Our guide prepared us well for the remote section ahead. He was so experienced and calm. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their support beyond the last village was excellent. Camping in the Barun Valley with those massive peaks around us was something else. Knowledgeable guides and porters who worked so hard every single day.
The Sherpa village of Seduwa at 1,500m welcomed us so warmly. A lady came out and offered us fresh tea before we even stopped. Our guide laughed and said this is how we do it here. Himalaya Hub is a trusted trekking company in Nepal. The cultural side of the Makalu Base Camp Trek surprised me as much as the mountains. Best trekking company in Nepal for people who love both nature and culture.

Unreal Views of Mount Makalu
Mount Makalu at 8,485m from base camp looked so unreal. Sharp black rock covered in snow and ice. Our guide told us about the first ascent and it made standing there feel even more special. He was brilliant at bringing the mountains to life with stories. Himalaya Hub is one of the best trekking agencies in Nepal and their guides are truly knowledgeable. The whole Makalu Base Camp Trekking experience was raw and wild and perfect. Safe and well organized the whole way.
Kalo Pokhari lake at 3,930m sat so quietly in the mountains. The water was dark and still and the reflection of the peaks was perfect. Our guide sat with us there for a long time and nobody said anything. Himalaya Hub is a local trekking operator in Kathmandu and they built in rest stops like this perfectly. The Makalu Base Camp Trek gave us so many beautiful moments. Great service from start to finish.

From Jungle to Glacier Views
The Makalu Base Camp Trek takes you from hot subtropical jungle all the way up to glacier views near 5,000m. The change in landscape every day was incredible. Our guide explained the different ecosystems and made every walk feel like a nature lesson. He was so passionate about the Makalu Barun National Park. Himalaya Hub is a professional trekking company and their route planning through eastern Nepal was flawless. The Barun Glacier views near base camp were something I will carry forever. Highly recommended trekking company.
