Overview

Annapurna circuit trekking is prominently considered to be the classic trekking trail in the second most popular trekking trail in, Annapurna region in Nepal. Most importantly, Annapurna circuit Trekking is also known as round Annapurna trekking.

TripAdvisor

Annapurna circuit trekking was officially opened in 1980 for the trekkers. Since the very year 1980, the attraction to this trekking trail is increasing considerably among the trekkers who are keen enthusiasts of adventure. The magnificent arid landscapes along with Himalayan flora and faunas will certainly stun one. Similarly, the trail will offer you probably the most breath-taking view of the mountain range in the skyline.

The major highlight of Annapurna Circuit trekking is its highest point Thorong La pass at an altitude of 5416m. And getting victory it is a trekkers dream. From Thorong La Pass, trekkers will seize the superb panoramic views of mountains closer to their eyes.

After you cross the Thorang La pass you will reach to Muktinath, the sacred religious site of Hindu as well as Buddhists. Muktinath is not only famous for international tourists but also for domestic tourists. It is believed that the holy bath here washes all the sins and a way of salvation.

The other highlights of this trekking are the spellbinding mountains, beautiful the Kaligandaki valley, the warm hospitality of local ethnic people and their culture, hot springs in Tatopani,  rhododendron forests,  stunning sunrise view from Poon hill.

After breakfast, we take you to four major world UNESCO heritage sites for sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley. Visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest of all Hindu temples. Situated 5 kilometers east of Kathmandu, the temple of Lord Shiva-Pashupatinath, with its two-tiered golden roof and silver doors, is famous for its superb architecture. We can see the temple, the activities performed on the temple premises, and the cremation bank of the Bagmati River.

Apart from Hindus, no one is allowed to enter the main temple, but we take a short walk by the bank of the Bagmati River, where one can observe the pilgrims and Hindu priests activities around the premises. This River is also a cremation site for Hindus. From here, we take a short drive that leads to Bouddhanath, northeast of the Pashupatinath area.

The Stupa of Bouddhanath is 8 kilometers east of Kathmandu. This colossal and ancient stupa is one of the biggest in the world. This area is also known as ‘Little Tibet. After a visit here to observe the Tibetan Buddhist way of life, our tour continues towards the Patan area, which is situated to the south of Kathmandu and separated by a bridge over the River Bagmati. Patan Durbar Square (Patan) is also known as Lalitpur, which means the city of Arts and architecture.

The old historical castle (Durbar), the tall terracotta house, and the Stone Temple of Krishna with the pillar of Garuda look fascinating. Garuda is the vehicle of Lord Vishnu as well as of Lord Krishna. After the historic visit, we drive short distances towards the end of the Patan area at the Tibetan Refugee Camp, where one can observe the happy and cheery workers weaving carpets. The Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) has been in use since the 5th century and consists of a magnificent domed stupa as well as a variety of shrines and temples. Each temple is extremely ornate and richly decorated with gold and vibrant prayer flags, though it’s not only the spiritual décor that draws visitors.

This sacred pilgrimage site is also home to hundreds of monkeys considered holy by Tibetan Buddhists and Hindus. According to legend, Manjushree, the bodhisattva of wisdom, was in the process of raising the temple hill when the lice in his hair transformed into these monkeys. Swayambhunath means self

arisen and is derived from that legend.

Today is an acclimatization day. It is an important day for us. As we are going to cross Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), our body needs to resist the high elevation.

Manang is already over 3000m above sea level, so we have lots of side trips for acclimatization. You can make a trip to Ice Lake (4600m,it's a 8-hour long day trip, we recommend you have another additional day) or Hike up to Gangapurna Glacier Lake or to the monastery of Hundered Lama.

It's a beautiful town, and the rest of the day you explore around Manang Valley. overnight at the same guesthouse.

It's mostly pebbles and rocks, and it's dry. Mostly people spend a night at Thorong Phedi and go for a hike to Thorong High Camp for acclimatization, which is another 2 hours of steep climb from Thorong Phedi, Some trekkers without symptoms slowly proceed to High Camp after lunch for the night to shorten the trip for the next day as we have a Guest house in High Camp as well.
